Beginning the Adventure: Camel Ride to the Oasis
The excursion begins at 11:00 AM in the village of Merzouga, where our Berber guides will welcome you warmly before starting the camel trek.
Riding your dromedary, you will traverse the stunning golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a dreamlike landscape where the silence and vastness of the desert create a deep connection with nature.
After a few hours of trekking, you will reach a small oasis hidden among the dunes, where we will pause to rest, enjoy sweet Berber tea, and savor a traditional lunch prepared in the desert. This is the perfect moment to relax under the shade of the palm trees and appreciate the serenity of the Sahara.
Journey to the Camp and Sunset in the Dunes
In the afternoon, approximately two hours before sunset, you will mount your camel again to continue the journey toward the Berber camp in the heart of the desert.
Along the way, you can admire how the sun paints the dunes in shades of gold, orange, and red—a breathtaking natural spectacle that is perfect for photos.
Upon arrival at the camp, you will be welcomed with warm Berber hospitality. You will have time to settle into your traditional haima (tent) before enjoying a typical Moroccan dinner under a star-filled sky.
Berber Night: Music, Stories, and Sahara Stars
After dinner, the magic continues around the fire. The desert Berbers will invite you to participate in a night of traditional music, playing drums and singing Saharan songs.
You will hear ancestral stories about nomadic life in the desert while enjoying the peace and absolute silence of the surroundings.
Merzouga’s sky, free from light pollution, offers an incredible view of thousands of stars and shooting stars—an unforgettable experience. Finally, you will sleep in a traditional nomadic tent, lulled by the tranquility of the desert.
